ABOUT US
LOVU ZDAR
The Story Continues
When LOVU ZDAR was founded in 2009, the media landscape looked very different. Information was not something we could find with a few taps on a phone screen, and printed magazines were one of the main ways to discover new stories, experiences and places.
LOVU ZDAR was created with the ambition of bringing a high-quality hunting magazine to the Slovak market, built around compelling subjects and exceptional photography. We began as a franchise of the French magazine La Chasse and quickly found readers who expected more from a hunting publication than information alone. They wanted an experience.
Much has changed since then. The world has moved online, and the way we read has changed with it. Information we once had to wait for until the next issue of a magazine is now available instantly.
And So LOVU ZDAR Has Evolved
Today, we are a Slovak hunting and lifestyle magazine. We do not try to compete with the internet in terms of speed or replace specialist publications. We have chosen a different path.
We want to show our readers the world
Through authentic stories and the experiences of people from Slovakia and abroad, we explore places, cultures, hunting traditions and experiences our readers may never have known existed. We bring interviews with fascinating personalities, useful insights from around the world, and experiences and contacts relating to international hunting outfitters.
Perhaps one of our stories will simply capture your interest. Or perhaps, one day, it will become the starting point of a journey to a place or an experience you had previously only dreamed of.
A Magazine Meant to Be Experienced
We also see LOVU ZDAR as a visual work in its own right. For us, photography is just as important as the written word.
Large photographs, clean design and generous use of space are intended to draw readers directly into each story – to the Argentine pampas, the African wilderness, the mountains of Europe or wherever the next issue may take us.
That is why we do not want our magazine simply to be read.
We want it to be seen, explored and experienced.
Every Issue Has Its Own Identity
We have also moved away from the traditional idea that every issue must contain the same regular sections. We do not chase subjects simply to fill pre-planned pages, nor do we repeat them just because they have come around again on the calendar.
The content of each issue takes shape around stories we believe deserve to be told. Every edition has its own atmosphere, visual identity and content.
We do not seek to replace other hunting publications or do the same things they do.

LOVU ZDAR Simply Follows Its Own Path
An issue does not lose its relevance on the last day of the month. That is also why we are changing the way readers can access the magazine.
Every issue of LOVU ZDAR is available to read online free of charge, while printed editions can be purchased individually. No traditional subscription is required.
And if you have missed an issue, there is no need to worry. A story from Argentina does not lose its value simply because it was published several months ago. As long as a printed edition remains available, you can return to it whenever you wish.
What We Are Building Is More Than an Archive. It Is a Collection
And if you have never read LOVU ZDAR before, you do not have to start on the first page. Simply open the magazine and begin turning the pages. Perhaps a photograph will make you stop. Perhaps a person. Perhaps a place you did not even know existed yesterday.
If any of our pages sparks your curiosity, inspires you to see something new, travel somewhere, experience something new or simply learn more about the world, then LOVU ZDAR has achieved exactly what we set out to do.
To show you the world. To tell its stories. And to inspire you to create your own.
